The Opportunity

As a Senior Test Engineer for Android Point of Sale (POS) systems, you will play a crucial role in ensuring the quality and reliability of our Android-based POS software and hardware solutions. Your primary responsibility will be to design, develop, and execute comprehensive test plans, test cases, and test scripts to validate the functionality, performance, and security of the Android POS system. You will collaborate closely with the development and product teams to identify test requirements and drive the testing process from inception to delivery.

Day-to-Day Responsibilities​

• Test Planning: Work with the project stakeholders to understand the Android POS system requirements and translate them into clear and detailed test plans and strategies.
• Test Design: Design and create test cases, test scenarios, and test scripts to cover all aspects of the Android POS system, including functional, integration, regression, and performance testing.
• Test Execution: Execute test cases, log defects, and verify bug fixes to ensure the stability and functionality of the Android POS system across different devices and environments.
• Automation: Identify opportunities for test automation and develop automated test scripts to streamline the testing process and improve efficiency.
• Performance Testing: Conduct performance and load testing to ensure the Android POS system meets performance benchmarks and can handle high transaction volumes.
• Security Testing: Assess the security vulnerabilities of the Android POS system and work closely with the security team to implement necessary safeguards.
• Device Compatibility: Ensure the Android POS software is compatible with various Android devices and screen resolutions commonly used in the market.
• Documentation: Document test cases, test results, and other testing-related information in a clear and organized manner.
• Collaboration: Collaborate with cross-functional teams, including developers, product managers, and quality assurance team members, to ensure smooth communication and effective testing processes.
• Continuous Improvement: Stay up-to-date with the latest testing methodologies, tools, and technologies to continuously improve the testing process and enhance product quality.

Who Are We Looking For

• Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Software Engineering, or a related field.
• Proven experience as a Test Engineer or Quality Assurance Engineer in Android application testing, preferably in the Point of Sale domain.
• Strong knowledge of Android OS, its architecture, and key components.
• Familiarity with testing frameworks and tools, such as Appium, Espresso, or UI Automator.
• Experience in test planning, test case design, and test execution for complex software systems.
• Proven experience as a Test Engineer or Quality Assurance Engineer in the payment processing domain, with specific experience in acquiring switch testing being highly desirable.
• Strong understanding of payment processing protocols, such as ISO 8583, and experience with EMV and NFC technologies.
• Proficiency in test automation using scripting or programming languages like Java, Kotlin, Python, or similar.
• Knowledge of performance testing tools like JMeter or Gatling is a plus.
• Familiarity with security testing concepts and methodologies is an advantage.
