The Opportunity

As the Test Automation Team Lead and Architect, you will be responsible for two key areas. Firstly, you will create and maintain the test automation tech stack at all levels of the testing pyramid. This includes designing and implementing an efficient automation strategy, selecting appropriate tools, and ensuring high automation coverage. Secondly, as the team lead, you will oversee the line organization of a team comprising 20 individuals. This role requires a deep understanding of test automation, strong leadership skills, and the ability to collaborate effectively with cross-functional teams.

Day-to-Day Responsibilities:

• Develop and implement the test automation strategy, framework, and guidelines in alignment with industry best practices and ISTQB standards
• Lead and manage the test automation team, providing guidance, mentoring, and support to ensure high-quality test automation practices
• Act as a consultant to the Test Department Manager, providing expertise and recommendations on test automation strategies, technologies, and processes
• Collaborate with other test teams as a center of excellence, sharing knowledge, best practices, and providing support and guidance for their test automation efforts
• Design, develop, and maintain robust and scalable test automation frameworks, tools, and scripts
• Conduct feasibility studies and evaluate the applicability of new test automation tools and technologies
• Establish and enforce test automation processes, standards, and guidelines to ensure consistency and quality across projects
• Continuously improve test automation practices, exploring innovative approaches and techniques to enhance efficiency and effectiveness

Who Are We Looking For

• Strong understanding of software testing principles, methodologies, and best practices, including a solid foundation in ISTQB standards
• Extensive experience in designing and implementing test automation strategies and frameworks
• Proficiency in test automation tools and technologies, such as Selenium, JUnit, TestNG, Cucumber, and Appium
• Solid programming skills in languages commonly used for test automation, such as Java, Python, or C#
• Deep knowledge of test automation frameworks and libraries, such as TestNG, JUnit, Robot Framework, or SpecFlow
• Familiarity with version control systems (e.g., Git) and continuous integration/continuous delivery (CI/CD) pipelines
• Knowledge of agile software development methodologies and experience working in agile teams
• Fluent in English (German is a plus)
