You have profound (minimum 2 years) experience in an 3rd Level Application Technical Support role working with complex applications which are coded in mainframe COBOL, CICS, JCL in an IBM Z/OS mainframe environment Communicate with stakeholders on a day to day basis via telephone and email in a clear, courteous and professional mannerDemonstrable experience of delivering to tight deadlines under pressure without supervision. Particularly in a 24x7x365 support environment.Awareness and appreciation of potential functional/technical/commercial implications of issues or decisions that are being made, and the ability to clearly explain these to the Customer.Analytical ability in being able to resolve incidents and clearly document both the root cause and the steps taken to ameliorate the cause.Creating, executing and documenting test scripts for fixes and enhancements (e.g. unit, system, regression, integration testing)

You have solid knowledge of at least one of the following:
- NATURAL II
- ADABAS direct calls from COBOL
- Mainframe Assembler
- Integration of Mainframe applications with IBM MQ
You have experience of using:
- Diagramming tools such as Visio or LucidChart for documenting application data flows.
- Configuration Management tools
- ServiceNOW (or equivalent)
- Mainframe test tools such as CA Intertest, IBM Debug for z/OS
You have an understanding of
- UK rail operations
- ITIL processes
You have an interest in learning new technical skills since there may be opportunities to cross-train in future
