The opportunity

The Risk Manager  is a senior leadership role within the Second Line of the Merchant Services (MS) Division within Worldline. In this role you will be concentrating on the UK entity which is of significant strategic importance for Worldline. We are in the process of obtaining a payment institution licensed in the UK the entity and are looking for your expertise and initiative to ensure we are fulfilling all FCA requirements while supporting the growth of our business.

Worldline operates within a matrix organisation and you will report functionally to the global CRO for Merchant Services with local accountability to the local UK Management Board. In your role you will be supported by the central risk management team which will help you in ensuring the local rollout of risk management industry best practices.

Your day-to-day responsibilities include

  • Establish and maintain a sound risk management culture through awareness and stakeholder engagement within the UK.
  • Establish and maintain strong relationships with the UK management board and risk owners.
  • Ensure that the risk profile for the UK entity is regularly updated.
  • Ensure that the Risk Management Process is executed effectively and that all risks are captured with corresponding action plans.
  • Ensure compliance with all FCA requirements in so far as it relates to Risk Management.
  • Facilitate, and lead as necessary, all Risk Committees for the UK entity.
  • Prepare all Risk Management reports, both internally and externally, as required by Auditors and Regulators.
  • Support the development and implementation of the Internal Control Framework, to assure that risks are effectively mitigated.

  • Excellent organizational, planning, and communication.
  • Strong team player with a “can-do” attitude
  • Comfortable working independently with a self-starter mindset
  • You've got substantial knowledgeof regulatory requirements relating to risk management
  • Multicultural and flexible mindset with the ability to multi-task and work in an international environment.
  • 4+  years working in a Risk Management role.
  • Excellent knowledge and awareness related to risk management industry best practices and frameworks (e.g., COSO, ISO 31000
  • Experience working in matrix organizations.
  • Experience working in a European-regulated financial or payments institution is a plus

It would be great if you have the following skills, too:

  • Payment industry experience
  • Bachelor’s Degree (Economics, Business Administration, Finance, or equivalent)
  • Industry Risk Management Certifications (CRMA, CRISC, CISA etc.)
  • Risk Management / GRC tool experience (preferably RSA Archer)
  • Strong reporting and presentation skills (Office products and Power BI)
